Furguson!? Oh no, I hope he doesn't go!

A worse blow however, IMHO, would be to lose Ferguson.

I thought Blackpools wage structure was very low ( ie in the region £10-15k ) ? If thats the case, how can they pay the sort of wages Mr F. will be looking for?

The only reason I can fathom is that Blackpool is past the snarly bit of the M6 and so would enable him to play English football but get to Scotland pretty quickly.

He would be a big loss in this division. However, if his heart isn't in it now Eck has gone, let him go.

It makes sense that Blackpool are after a central midfielder with the loss of both Adam and Vaughan, but I would be surprised if Ferguson left us for another Championship club!

i think the only reason hell go to blackpool is because CH has told him that he dose not want him here any more or that CH told him he wont be in the starting 11 and i hope he dose go because he is too old and has gone past his best bring in some young blood like gomis or fahey or michel

There was something in one of the tabloids last week about him replacing Charlie Adam.

I keep reading on here to about people saying good riddance to "the crab" he can only pass backwards and sideways.

I've mentioned this before, the way Fergusun played for us was not his natural game, this is how McLies wanted him to play. I distinctly remember both Barry and Alex talking about this in interviews after his first few months.

Barry was saying how it is not his natural style of play and he finds it difficult to adjust to and doesn't like it as he likes to get forward and into the box but that he was prepared to play whatever way he had to in order for the team to be succesful.

McLies also made similar comments. It does show though McLies tactical limitations, the fact that he never dared "unleash" ferguson, he insisted that he still sit there infront of the back four even when we needed a win. I would expect a different player under Hughton if he does stay.

To be fair to Kaje, Ferguson's been with us for 2 years and his name is printed everywhere.

I'm not too bothered whether Bazza (much easier to spell for those who find it difficult :P) stays or goes. Jordon Mutch is a much bigger asset to the club in that similar midfield role.

Mutch can play attacking or defensive so Bazza would be an ideal CM partnership with him to take turns going forward and such like and will be able to read each others play well.

Yep and he was brilliant. Not sure how often he'd be able to play like that though, I understand he has long term injury concerns/metal plates in one of his legs?

I'll miss him if he goes. Another player that we could see change dramatically under Hughton.

Barry FERGUSON is a Premiership quality player. Anyone who can't see that needs their eyes tested! However, I wouldn't rule out Blackpool. If he can't get Newcastle/Sunderland then you never know.

Nearer Scotland he is the better. I'd have him back with us in a heartbeat! < <

Correct. One of his ankles is made of steel. Might also be something about one of his knees also, can't quite remember. Regularly used to play through the pain barrier for us and take painkilling injections directly into the bone :crying: . Speaks volumes about the man!
